MEET THE FOUNDER OF ALPHA ALPHA PSI

Gwendolyn is a native of South Florida. She is one of five siblings born to the proud parents, the late Deacon C. Robert Lewis, Sr., and Mother Vivian Lewis, of whom she is the youngest. She is married to Mr. Joey Harris, Sr., and to this union two sons were born, Freddie Lamar II and Joey Harris, Jr.

 

Mrs. Harris is a 1985 graduate of Miami Northwestern Senior High School. Upon graduating from high school, her educational endeavors continued. She attended Sparks Community College, where she obtained an Associate's in Arts degree in Interior Decorating, a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration from Briar Cliff College, and continued educational courses at Miami Dade Community College in Miami, Florida.

Mrs. Harris received her call to the ministry at an early age. She was baptized at the age of 5, under the leadership of Reverend David A. Bradley, at the Mount Carmel Missionary Baptist Church in Miami, Florida. She has a passion for singing and working in the church. Her first ministry in church was the Ministry of Ushering. She always had a love for serving God and for the people of God. She also served as a Counselor for New Converts and the Evangelism Explosion. In her senior year in high school, she was employed as a Teller Intern at a local banking institution. She served three decades in the Staffing industry, during which she received various awards for her accomplishments in the workforce.

Current affiliations include being an Elder/Associate Pastor of New Birth Cathedral of Faith International, Eastern Star Affiliation, Red Hatters Sisters of Grace, Board Member for Tyshekia's Haven, Active Member of Revelation Seed, Member of The National Association of Negro Business & Professional Women's Club, Inc. (NANBPWC), and a member of the WomenNPower Global Network and the Founder and CEO of Alpha Alpha Psi Sorority, Inc., located in several states which includes Florida, Georgia, North and South Carolina.
